MGB in the workshop

There's been a bit of a spate of MGBs coming through the workshop of late, this one being the most recent. It's a really nice, well used car that's been with the same owner since 1980, raced at Goodwood, re-shelled in the 1990s and used as daily driver pretty much since then. It wasn't running when it was dropped off, the owner thinking it was related to some dodgy fuel as their other MG packed up at the same time after going to the same filling station. Today I drained the tank as a precaution and put £25 of e5 in, overhauled the carburettors and cleaned up, checked and adjusted the various parts of the ignition system. With that done it fired right up. That just leaves an issue with the fuel sender, I'll remove it tomorrow and see if it's just gummed up before ordering a replacement.
