This tidy 1956 ZA Magnette was dropped off today for a little work. The owner's been away, when he came back there was a puddle of what looked like brake fluid under a rear wheel. It didn't take long to find the fault, the right side slave cylinder was leaking and had been for some time - he told me he's been topping up the reservoir since he's had the car. As the left side looked like brand new I looked a little further and found the brake pipe that runs across the axle was crushed where it was strapped so I don't think the cylinder has been doing much, hence the leak. New shoes and cylinders will be fitted both sides and a new pipe fabricated and fitted, that should sort it.
