Austin A30 in the workshop

This rather nice Austin A30 was dropped off today for a couple of jobs. The one it came in for, the wiring up & fitting of a Smiths tachometer, was relatively straightforward, although I did have to ignore the wiring instructions that came with it. The complication was positive earth and electronic ignition but it just needed a bit of thought. Now that's done the owner has asked me to do some tuning, it's got a 1098cc A-series with a hot cam and what looks like a single SU HS4 carburettor so it shouldn't take much to dial it in. It's modelled on the A30 racing series but built for the road with Sprite suspension and a few other small mods. The MX5 seats are a nice touch, it's actually comfortable to drive.
